Dr. Haveman brings to Beacon a wide variety of professional experience, from the Academy, to the private sector, to government service.  He was previously a research fellow and director of the Economy program at the Public Policy Institute of California. He has been a member of the faculty in the Economics Department at Purdue University, has served as the Senior International Economist at the President's Council of Economic Advisers, and has been a visiting fellow at the United States Bureau of the Census. He has also worked as a research economist at the Bureau of Economics at the United States Federal Trade Commission. He holds a B.A. in economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an M.S. and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
