Senior Economic Research Associate
This position will provide technical and analytic support for a broad range of projects. The ideal candidate will possess superior statistical analytic skills, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have a strong interest in studying economic, development and policy issues at a national, state, and regional level. Perform data analysis using statistical software including STATA
Utilize a variety of public and private data sources
Conduct data graphing, tabling, and mapping to aid in presentation of analysis
Author reports and products based on complex data analysis
Develop presentations and reports using PowerPoint, LaTeX and related software packages
Assist with database management and maintenance of data library
Perform literature reviews and summarize previous work
Work with senior management to understand research needs and carry out projects with minimal guidance
Perform administrative and other tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
M.A./M.S. in economics, public policy, or statistics required (PhD welcome)
Demonstrable expertise with data analysis using statistical software required (STATA, Eviews, etc)
Strong written and verbal communication skills (writing sample required)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (esp. Excel and PowerPoint)
Proficiency in LaTex desired
Experience with database management and data analysis
ArcGIS and Python experience desired
Effective listener with the ability to create physical product from general ideas
Ability to multi-task, manage time efficiently, and meet deadlines
