Mia Yang is a Research Associate at Beacon Economics, LLC. Ms. Yang provides key analytic support for many of the firm's projects and research initiatives with a special focus on data and public policy analysis. Her recent projects have included studying the effects of a California Supreme Court decision that affects how workers are classified, and of minimum wage laws in the state. She also recently co-authored an annual multifamily real estate forecast for the University of Southern California Lusk Center for Real Estate. Her academic interests include international trade, global economic strategies and development, emerging markets, and international project finance and investment.

Prior to joining Beacon Economics, Ms. Yang was a research assistant at the Institute of International Finance where she examined China’s capital outflows, monetary policies, and business cycles. She was also a development economics consultant for the World Bank Group where she collected and analyzed data on Public Private Partnerships. Ms. Yang holds an M.A. degree in Public Policy from Georgetown University, and a B.S. degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
