Niree Kodaverdian Lead Research Associate

Niree Kodaverdian, Ph.D. is Lead Research Associate at Beacon Economics, LLC. Dr. Kodaverdian conducts data research and analysis in support of several of the firm’s key practice areas including Public Policy Analysis; Housing, Land Use and Real Estate; and Economic, Fiscal, and Social Impact Analysis.

Dr. Kodaverdian is highly adept at working with various data sets to uncover underlying economic trends and relationships. She is skilled in programming surveys, economic experiments, and simulations that inform counterfactual data scenarios, and has extensive experience in data processing, analysis, and visualization using econometric software such as STATA, R, and MATLAB.

 

Dr. Kodaverdian’s academic interests include examining the behavioral and neural underpinnings of rational decision making. During the course of her Ph.D, she developed several lab-in-field experiments to better understand the development of economic decision making across the lifespan. Dr. Kodaverdian’s research and writing have contributed to several successful grant awards for the University of Southern California’s behavioral economics lab. Her research has been published in highly respected economics and science journals, including the Journal of Economic Behavior & Organization, Games and Economic Behavior, and Human Brain Mapping.

 

Prior to joining Beacon Economics, Dr. Kodaverdian worked as a college economics professor, where she was esteemed for her ability to communicate difficult economic concepts and models in simple, broadly understandable ways. She primarily taught classes in the principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics, but also taught courses in behavioral economics, environmental economics, intermediate microeconomics, as well as MBA-level courses in managerial economics and the economic environment of business. 

Additionally, Dr. Kodaverdian has worked as an economic consultant in litigation for over a decade. As an expert economist, she has analyzed clients’ tax, expenditure, and other financial data in order to quantify their past, present, and future economic losses following incidents including misleading advertising, medical negligence, auto accidents, and workplace personal injury. She has maintained a 100% track record of successful case settlement. 

Dr. Kodaverdian holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Southern California, an M.A. in Economics also from the University of Southern California, and a B.A. in Economics, with departmental and college honors, from UCLA.
