Daniel van de Star is a Research Associate at Beacon Economics, LLC. Mr. Van de Star supports a number of the firm’s major practice areas, specializing in economic impact and public policy analysis. A skilled analyst, he is highly proficient in the use of leading data and econometric software including SQL, Tableau, Stata, R, and Python.
Mr. Van de Star combines his analytic and research expertise with strategic communication, operational management, and client relation skills. He is a practiced writer on topics ranging from non-market strategy systems to public policy initiatives.
Prior to joining Beacon Economics, Mr. Van de Star cultivated hands on experience in the private sector. He was a Deployment Project Manager for a private consultancy and a Business Operations Analyst for DISH Network. In those roles he specialized in building KPI dashboards, managing relational databases, and overseeing financial forecasting operations.

Mr. Van de Star holds an MSc in Public Administration from the University of Leiden in the Netherlands, an M.A. in Literary Studies from the University of Amsterdam, and a B.A. in Politics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University.
